History: This breed is the color pointed version of the Siberian, which is a forest cat with a long history in Russia. The Neva Masquerade is named after the Neva River in St. Petersburg, Russia, where it was first developed. It is unknown who started to develop the Neva Masquerade, but breeders think that a Siberian was crossed with a Birman to obtain this breed's beautiful coat and color points. Personality/Temperament: Combining strength and gentleness, the Neva Masquerade is an excellent family pet and will become particularly attached to children. They are also friendly to other family pets. siberianking.org siberianmiraclecats.com The Complete Cat Breed Book |
