They have some excess skin around the elbows and the belly areas, and long, tapering tails. They are similar in appearance to the Egyptian Mau, a more popular breed. History: Keudas are thought to be the descendants of the first cats in Texas, and that they have Spanish origins. Isolated and remote colonies were the source of the cats that were developed into the Keuda breed. The American Keuda Cat Association (AKCA) is responsible for the American Keuda breed's preservation and quality. The association is dedicated to maintaining a hardy cat with the best possible health and appearance. Personality/Temperament: Most Keudas are energetic and outgoing; they like water enough to attempt to share an owner's shower or "help" with the dishes, and it is advisable to keep fish bowls covered when a curious Keuda's around. They develop strong bonds with other cats and sometimes even befriend the family dog. Fun Fact: The last name "Keuda" stands for "Kitten Evaluation Under Direct Assessment."
